Each year, Women’s
Voices has offered an increasing number and variety
of art workshops designed to encourage women to freely
express their selves.
Kente Cultural Center has continued to be an integral
part of the Women’s Voices program, sponsoring
the Mothers and Daughters workshops since 2001.
Professional women artists share their experience
and nurture each woman’s creative exploration.
The casual workshop environment is conducive to conversing
and sharing all aspects of one’s life and many
new friendships have been forged.
Classes are held at the Hygienic Art Galleries,
the Garde Gallery, and the Kente Cultural Center,
a further example of how the New London community
pulls together to support fellow programs.
After each session of classes, Women’s Voices
helps women realize the value of their creative talents
by offering a venue in which to show their
new work. The Women’s Voices Show Opening
boasts the second highest attendance of the Hygienic
Art, Inc. events. |
